Happy Valentine's Day

As one of those who typically celebrates my awareness of being single on February the 14th, this year was a welcome relief from the typical. 

This year, the day was not reall that different from previous years, save a few small things.

First, I was reminded that there really are good people left in this world.  People who do good things, kind things, thoughtful things without any need for recognition or praise. There are people who just want to be kind, to do things to make other people feel loved.  I hope that someday I am that thoughtful and good.

Second, there are stupid people in the world.  People who want to make other people as miserable as they are.  There are people who don't understand boundaries, nor do they seem to understand the importance of looking outside themselves. 

Third, a day in the year set aside for love is a good thing.  Remembering to love others all year long is a better thing.  Simply loving others at all times, without the need for anything in return, is best.
