Squeezing Some Last Minute Sunshine Out of Summer

Lately I've been pretty busy around here.
A lot is going on in this last month of summer and so I've been trying to keep up with everything.
Because summer is ending soon, (sad day) I have been trying to stay focused on enjoying every last bit of it.  I've been trying to soak up the sun, sleep in when I want to, travel, and hang out with as many friends as I can.  The past couple of weeks have been fun!

My friend Cami is getting married in a couple of weeks and so all us Single Ladies (who are bridesmaids) threw her bridal shower last week.  We went on our annual SLs camping trip on Monday night and then prepared and hosted the shower on Tuesday night.  I can't say it was the smartest timing we've ever had, but everything went down pretty well.  I was in charge of the food but I had a lot of helpers (for which I am definitely grateful)!

Oreo truffle hearts, fruit kabobs, chocolate cake fruit kabobs, and 2 kinds of fruit dip

On Thursday, Natalie and I headed out to have a nice, hot, summery party in Vegas.  We had invited a bunch of people but in the end we were the only two who didn't have something else (work, family reunions, etc.) going on.  This was a bit of a last minute trip, born out of the need for a true vacation with drinks by the pool and relaxing on the mind.  Las Vegas is not one of my favorite places in all the world, but it is close, has inexpensive hotels, great food, awesome dance clubs, and lots of pools and palm trees. It ended up being a lot more fun than I had grown to expect from Vegas!

We did a lot while we were there, even though we tried to budget a lot of time for just relaxing too.  We shopped, ate (a lot), saw Bill Cosby's show, and enjoyed a little Vegas nightlife.

Road-trippin' it to Vegas!

Enjoying a scrumptious frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity3. Divine.

Ready to go relax poolside.

Ready for some Vegas nightlife

We also stopped in St. George on the way home from Vegas since there is a beautiful outdoor amphitheater that has awesome shows.  We saw "Grease" and it was wonderful!  I want to go back again to see more shows there soon!  We also stopped and took a walk at the stunning St. George temple!

Since returning from our trip to Sin City, I've been hiking with my roommate, went to a SL Bees baseball game, and started thinking about getting ready for school to start here in a couple of weeks.

Between now and Aug. 18, when I have to start working again, I have 4 weddings to attend or be a part of...meaning my weekends are a bit shot from now to then.  I'm hoping to enjoy my weeknights and days instead, even though I am tutoring most weeknights!!  I want summer to last forever but I am actually starting to get a little excited for a new school year!
