A Letter of Friendly Advice

Dear World,
If I have any advice to give anyone right now it would consist of several things including:

  • My past shapes who I am, but does not have to be part of who I become.
  • Life doesn't get easier, it only gets easier to deal with.
  • Disappointment and trials eventually turn into opportunities for growth, and you will grow from them at some point.
  • Happiness has to do with who you are, who you are becoming, and how you deal with the journey to get there.
  • You never really "get there" but you do get closer.
  • The most important things are the things you think mean very little.
  • People are generally good.  People need love to be good sometimes, but they are good.
  • It doesn't matter how far away you are, how much you try to distance yourself from your problems, if you don't deal with them, they will always be your neighbor.
  • In the darkest of moments, the tiniest bit of light is that much brighter.
  • Smiling even when you don't feel like smiling will change your life.
  • Kids have an acute sense of feelings, and they are completely oblivious.  This makes them the perfect people to love those in need, say the right thing, and make the world a better place to live in.
  • There is always, always, always another chance.
  • You always, always, always have a choice.
  • Dancing can fix any bad day.
  • Faith, trust, and getting up everyday are the ways to move forward on the right path.
  • The path is different for everyone, but it is right for each of us.
  • Nothing is by chance. Everything is on purpose.
So there you have it.  The world may not need this, but I do.  And so, my advice to the world is really my advice to myself.  Things I know, things I've learned, things I'm learning. Right now, this is what I've got.  Tomorrow it might be different, or longer, but this is what I've got now.  And I'm living it.

Sincerely,
Me

Lovely Kim. You're such a thinker. This deserves to be quoted, printed, and passed around. Maybe I would add one thing: EAT ICE CREAM! That is all. :)
